Tough Talk

Last December, the NY Times decided that the scent of blood in the water was strong enough for them to talk tough.

Tough Talk and a Cowardly Vote on Terrorism - The New York Times:
“If you need proof that Congress is a hostage to the gun lobby, look no further than today’s vote,” said Senator Dianne Feinstein, who sponsored the terror watchlist measure.

This was the 'watchlist' which was equivalent to a "No Fly List' (go look it up), which "identified" people terrorists who were not allowed to fly in American airspace.

The only problem with the "Terrorist Watch List" has been that nobody knows who is on it, nobody know why they're on it, and there is no mechanism in place to take your name off it.  If you're on it.

Which you don't know.

So, this is the "watchlist" which Dianne Feinstein (aka: "Princess DI") and the New York Times felt should identify "Bad People" last December, and it's the 'watchlist' which Liberals have decided should be the definitive identifier of "Bad People'.  (My best guess is, it would be a list of people who are not "Reliable Citizens" .. aka "People Who Disagree With Princess DI!")

But Senator Princess DI has decided that anyone who is on the No-Fly List shouldn't be allowed to purchase a firearm.  No, it does NOT matter why they're on the No-Fly List; it's enough that they are on it, and her outrage that not everybody agrees with her .... knows no bounds!

It' has been a few months since the foofraw about Second Amendment and Flying On Airplanes issues have been conflated, and as far as I can tell, nothing has changed except
(a) according to the Freebeacon "DHS has secretly scrubbed 1000 names from the watchlist" and (b) according to The Power Hour  ... there are ways to scrub your name from it.  But we still don't know what these 'ways' are  (as of the latest information I've been able to find).

Well, Princess DI considers you suspect until you publicly agree with her; so 99% of us are still suspect, according to her personal yardstick of "A Good American".

HOW DO YOU GET TO BE A "GOOD AMERICAN"?

Well, you could join 'the Secret Squadron' and get your Secret Decoder Ring:

... but that's just silly.

Not as silly as the Terrorist Watch List (or what-ever they're calling it this month).

RECAP:
So, if you're on "The List", you are a terrorist.
Princess DI says so.  And there's no wiggle room for an Honest Citizen because Di is "Big Brother" (or the earthly manifestation thereof).

All YOU need is a cellphone and a pen.
(Oops .. sorry ... wrong political interpretation of the Constitution!)

All YOU need is a very good lawyer and a lot of money, to get off "The List".

Getting back to: “If you need proof that Congress is a hostage to the gun lobby, look no further than today’s vote,”

(Yes, that IS "Princess Di" talking.  Again.)

The current feeling in Washington is that, if you want to identify the people who should not own firearms, you only need to look at the list of people who should not fly on airplanes.

Well, it only stands to reason, doesn't it?  If we don't trust them enough to fly on airplanes, we CERTAINLY shouldn't trust them enough to allow them to own .... <gasp> FIREARMS!

Still .. it's curious that after all these months we don't know who is on this list, or why they're on the list, or how they can get OFF this list (liberal lies about 'process' excluded).

AND AS FOR THE PROPOSITION THAT IF YOU'RE ON THAT LIST YOU SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO OWN A FIREARM?

Cheese and Rice, conflating an arbitrary 'no fly' list with a 'abrogate their second amendment rights' list is about the dumbest thing I've heard lately.

On the other hand, I haven't heard what Princess Di had to say today, so I suppose I'm still capable of being astounded by the perfidy (stupidity) on Elected Officials.

The anti's Just keep casting about looking to get anything/anyone banned; any small gain for them is progress toward banning all guns (except, of course from their body guards)

It's worse than you say. Princess DI is conflating the "terrorism watchlist" with the "No-Fly List".

They are two separate things: the "No-Fly List" contains people suspected of engaging in terrorism, with actionable evidence should they be found and/or arrested. The "watchlist" contains people of being connected with terrorism, however loosely or remotely. (In other words, you or I could be on it now, as "domestic extremists", for writing/posting on this freedom-oriented blog.)

The "watchlist" is quite naturally an order of magnitude larger than the "No-Fly List".

And it's the "watchlist" -- not the "No-Fly List" -- that Princess DI wants to use to deny our rights!

Go big or go home, amiright?
